We went to Ireland for the Easter break last month and it was absolutely amazing. A bit boring, because Dublin doesn't feel as overwhelming, as vibrant as London, but just the thing we needed at the time. I still love London more, and I miss it terribly - I'm not sure I'm going to visit any time soon, though. Summer is San Diego, autumn is at best Spain (at worst - home, haha), New Year holidays is proooooobably New York (so much trouble getting an American visa shll not go to waste!). Next spring I want to go to Japan. *3*
Anyway, Ireland.

A friend of mine has been reccing this fic for some time now, and a couple of days ago I succumbed and decided to read it. I'm not even sure what to say now... my mind is completely blown away.

Nine eleven ten
Years later, Charles would remember that day. Sometimes he would wonder if he could have changed anything; other times he would despair over what he had since become. But he would always hold the image in his mind: Raven, laughing, and his thoughts flying alongside her on strong wings, silver-gold through the winter air. Once upon a time.

I don't want to spoil a single plot turn, even the very beginning, but really: just read it. It's gripping and long, the world is astounding and the porn is scorching hot. Awesome awesome awesome.

How many of you people COMPLETELY HATE the new comment boxes/pages? I know I do.
I abhor the look of the default comment page for free users - which is why I've been diligently paying for LJ despite only occasionally posting in

egl in the past two years.
And now my beloved comment page look is taken away, along with subject lines and shit. >.<;;;

Julia Vysotskaya Culinary Studio

I actually managed to seduce a friend into coming with me to a Christmas Dinner master-class and it was absolutely fantastic.
The weather on Friday was horrendous, we got lost, and came a bit late and completely drenched. The staff immediatelly whipped out two flutes of champagne. No need to say that our mood soared.

The master-class itself was fantastic! I learned some great tricks for cooking - and some amazing recipes. We're gonna see if I manage to introduce them into my Christmass dinner! :D I actually plan to roast a goose stuffed with apples. Hopefully I won't screw up badly XD

OH MY GOD, oh my God, I'm so shocked and angry right now, I don't even know whether to rage or just break down and cry.

I'm currently watching a talk show on TV about sexual slavery, and there was a girl in the studio - I'm not even talking about victim blaming, although there is a fucking shitton of that - who told her story, and then the host invited a supposed slave recruiter.

And HOLY FUCKING SHIT, I hope to God almighty that both the girl and him are fake, because otherwise what the TV host makes the girl go through - HE WILL BURN IN HELL for it.

I'm just... God, I think I'm going to go and cry.

Fuck.

Vietnam

Got back from Vietnam on Monday night. I think I'm gonna stick with European trips for the time being. 6 hours from Mui Ne to Ho chi min, then 9 hours on the plane to Moscow, and then 2 hours to get home. Although, wait, we're going to the US East coast in July - it's probably going to be even worse! *face palm*

Vietnam was very nice! 2 our of 3 tourists I talked to compared it to Thailand, saying the latter was better, but since I've never been there, I have nothing to compare it to (Turkey and Egypt are really in a whole different league). Yeah, I'm going to say that it's still very underdeveloped in the touristy sense, but I still liked it. Holiday = good.
